Kids Taekwondo Classes in Cedar Mill, OR

Taekwondo is consistently pointed to by child-development and pediatric health resources, including the American Academy of Pediatrics, as one of the strongest starting activities for young kids. It builds real motor skills, concentration, and self-confidence at an age when most team sports haven't caught up to a young child's attention span yet. At W1, that's exactly where we start: not with performance or competition, but with the fundamentals every child needs as a base: balance, coordination, focus, and the ability to sit with something hard and keep going.

That last part is what we care about most. We believe grit is built the same way any other skill is built: in small, repeatable moments where a child pushes through something difficult and gets to feel what it's like to succeed at it. A 4-year-old's first class looks like games and structure. By the time a student is testing for their next belt, that same discipline has become second nature, on and off the mat.

We follow the standard Kukkiwon rank system and only award official Kukkiwon Black Belt certification: real progress, not participation trophies. More than 60% of our students are girls, and W1 is a genuinely inclusive, community-built program, not a franchise.
